The Owen Sound Regional Hospital is both the community hospital for Owen Sound and area and the specialist acute care centre for Grey & Bruce counties and beyond. Approximately 102,000 people use its services each year.

Annual services provided include:
- 103,000 diagnostic tests including MRI, CT, xray, etc.
- 11,500 surgical procedures
- 11,000 patient visits for cancer services
- 3,229,874 laboratory tests
More than 80 specialist physicians practice at the hospital, including 24 surgeons. The hospital offers a wide range of services including ambulatory care, oncology, emergency, women and child care, surgical & acute care services, mental health, rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging and laboratory. The hospital also provides dialysis, the Ontario Breast Screening Program and is the designated Stroke Centre for the region.
