Here’s Our 2019 Event Recap:

Another outstanding curling event in support of Owen Sound Regional Hospital
Foundation was held on February 16, 2019 at the Bluewater Curling Club. With a full slate of participants, superb support from community sponsors and a team of enthusiastic volunteers, the funspiel generated over $15,000 to support priority projects at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital.
“Thank you to everyone who curled, sponsored and volunteered. Everyone involved helped make the day a huge success,” said Dennis Radbourne, Drawmaster and Chair of the organizing committee.
Lead sponsor of the Funspiel was Grey-Bruce Electric Supply.  Sheet sponsors included JaLand Construction, Ron Hopper Real Estate Ltd., Bumstead Insurance & Financial, Graham Design & Construction, and Snider’s Sydenham Auction & Appraisal Services. Our Bar & Lounge sponsor was Chambers Food, Dinner sponsor was Owen Sound Foodland and Have1.com sponsored our curling rocks. More than 50 local businesses provided auction and raffle items, plus team prizes. The community’s generosity ensured the success of this fundraiser!
Winning the Funspiel overall was the Hot Sliders team, skipped by Torben Hawksbridge with Paul Weitendorf, Lorne Johnston and Frank Lamont.
This was the 19th Annual Funspiel supporting the hospital. Over its history, the event has raised over $335,000 to support the purchase of new medical equipment for the hospital.
