GBHS Owen Sound Regional Hospital
The Owen Sound Regional Hospital is both the community hospital for Owen Sound and area and the specialist acute care centre for Grey & Bruce counties and beyond. Approximately 102,000 people use its services each year.
Annually, services include approximately:
- 709 babies born
- 35,361 ER visits
- 9,535 day surgeries
- 10,523 MRI tests, 12,136 CT scans
- 15,716 cancer services visits
- 1,644 cataract surgeries
More than 100 specialist physicians practice at the hospital, including 26 surgeons. The hospital offers a wide range of services including ambulatory care, oncology, emergency, women and child care, surgical & acute care services, mental health, rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging and laboratory. The hospital also provides dialysis, the Ontario Breast Screening Program and is the designated Stroke Centre for the region. The hospital has extensive laboratory and diagnostic imaging facilities.
